I'm impressed by your close acquaintance with the Information Minister, anyway.

I'm a fan. I've been watching the guy since the networks started following the war. He's one of those normally hyper types who is absolutely ebullient in his disregard for truth values, reality, etc. Very doughty. Kind of fun to watch.

The last couple of appearances the bounce isn't there. Facial expression has become more fixed. Little things. Not so much fun.

Like I said there's political methane here. I just don't know what it signifies.

I was intrigued by the clean cut military type who denied the Husseins are heading for the border. Why did they find it necessary to issue such a denial when the official press briefings are proclaiming all the regime's victories? "The crooks withdrew from Basra," etc.
