C'mon, out with it. You just make this stuff up as you go along, right?

Whether I make it up ad hoc or not the fact is I’m right.

Let's get at least one thing straight. Natalie Maine's comment about Bush was that she was ashamed that he was from Texas.

Please. You ought to learn how to read between the lines. She claimed this at a concert with a war and protests as the backdrop. Everyone but you knew precisely what she was saying. Indeed, her subsequent comments bear this out.
“As a concerned American citizen, I apologize to President Bush because my remark was disrespectful. I feel that whoever holds that office should be treated with the utmost respect. We are currently in Europe and witnessing a huge anti-American sentiment as a result of the perceived rush to war. While war may remain a viable option, as a mother, I just want to see every possible alternative exhausted before children and American soldiers' lives are lost.” (3/14/2003)

So stop all this crap, TP.

That's all.

That is not all. This chick ain’ even smart enough to maintain such a semantical posture, and neither are you.

She did not "spout off against her country as fellow Americans die on her behalf." This was before the war started.

Big deal. The fact is, she was condemning the Bush in view of war, a war that is American.

Yup, by golly, she disagrees with the president. Treason personified!

Didn’t say she committed treason. I said she is in fact free to be against America. But no one is obligated to respect her.

Only in the world of America's organized right wing hit squads can someone who says such a thing be targeted not only for ritual humiliation but also for financial ruin.

That is because America’s organized right wing are Americans are not the communists you apparently wish them to be. They are free to reject purchasing the products of someone who they view as anti-American.

As for Clinton's "notorious infidelity," what "millions knew" is only what "millions" were predisposed to believe. Jennifer Flowers was one thing. How the hell would any of our recent presidents have gotten elected if we had known what we know now about their personal lives?

Had we known about past presidents, many of them no doubt would have been rejected. That is not the point and it is certainly no argument supporting your position. The point is that we certainly did know about Clinton and yet Clinton lied.

Could Perot say that all those past presidents had been unfaithful to the country as he said Clinton would be? Hell, no.

The presidents of the past were not nearly as abominable as Clinton.

The infidelity issue you cling to was merely the easiest excuse the rabid right had to hammer on Clinton for everything he did from the day he was elected until well after he left.

Stay on target, madam. I only mentioned Perot to deftly counter your claim that the early criticism of Clinton had only to do with policy. You people really cannot argue. The fact is, the right did not hammer Clinton on marital fidelity alone – not even primarily. It hammered him on sexual harassment and lying. That was as it should have been.

Nobody called them un-American then and it's sure as hell not unamerican to disagree with Bush now.

No one called them un-American because they were not un-American. I am not claiming the protesters are un-American. But they are DEFINTELY anti-American. This war is an American enterprise and the protesters are condemning it, condemning our troops in the process. That is anti-American.

I personally know at least a half dozen Republicans who will not be voting for him again.

Fine.

And Natalie Maine sure isn't demanding your respect. She's merely pointing out your hypocrisy.

There is no hypocrisy at all. So if she is pointing this out, then she is an idiot. I am under no obligation to spend my money on an anti-American ditsy chick. Indeed, I have never even listened to her “music” – at least not knowingly. She seems a dingbat to me.
