And that was then and this is now. You seem to think present US behaviour represents "neo-colonialism." It appears to me that the only "neo-colonialism" we've seen in the last twenty years was Iraq's effort to annex Kuwait. What you are looking at is the the continuation of WW3 which actually began with the invasion of Kuwait and was continued by the Islamist attacks on the US. The war is between modernity and archaism. As were the Cold War and WW2. Both Baathism and Islamism are archaic forms (as were Communism and Fascism) the modern world can not coexist with. Right now, the French and Germans have forgotten WW2 was a war between modernity and archaism and are going down a mistaken path. They have temporarily, I hope, put reason aside and are not looking at reality.
