Madame Curie & many other females come to mind in the science category. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// >> oh wait, my bad... it must have been women who sacraficed themselves on the battlefield for their families. << Answer: YES here again through thousands of yrs of history there have been women who particpated in military strategy & battles: e.g. Joan of Arc, Bouddica(Celtic warrior), Celtic women in particular fought side by side with their husbands on battlefields. In fact, there would probably have been far fewer wars through the millenia if women held more power since it was their sons & husbands who were slaughtered. If bull-headed males had started to listen to nurturing females before the 20th Century, far fewer wars would have occurred. Men in the past have been raised to be much more violent & would go to war for piddling reasons that usually involved their own humungous egos. Thankfully, the more civilized males are starting to predominate in the world & they see the value of letting females retain more power both in the family & in governments. There are still backward, medieval cultures that try to control every detail of women's lives but they are dwindling. Arab culture in particular has not kept up with the modern world when it comes to acknowledging woman's entitlement to shared power in modern life.....that's their loss and is now working to their detriment. ************************************************************************ >> nope.. now i remember, it was women who flopped on their backs and spread 'em for the most successful male they could find so as to give themselves some purpose...<< Answer: Here's where you demonstrate your pitiful lack of character and confidence. You are blaming the victim......usually women were raped in the past--they were not entitled to agree with advances. Any horny, ugly brute could force himself on her. Where do you reside?.....the Mid-east? In that area of the world, the males in many areas demand that women cover themselves from head to foot since they believe that his "evil" thoughts are caused by her uncovering any part of her body. In civilized society, men realize they are responsible for personal control of their animal instincts and their own immoral thoughts cannot be blamed on others. Men & females have the duty to act in adult, responsible & civilized ways in order to create a pleasant & healthy community. The few males who insist on blaming only females for society's ills, usually had either a very stern mother or were neglected by her. That type of situation is rare, since most women shoulder their motherly responsibilities. I'm sorry if your childhood was unhappy but you cannot blame an entire gender for the mistakes of your own parent. Look for help.....it is out there.
