Spoils of war

That's what is so distressing about this "war". The level of bribery that was being offered to Turkey is astonishing. Russia, France and China are being told that their contracts with Iraq will not be honored. A "war" to bring freedom and democracy to Iraq which cost the Iraqis many lives and billions in damage. Now it is being made clear that Iraqi money will be used for repair and rebuilding.

Every angle of this invasion reeks of money and favoritism. The more they talk of freedom and democracy for the Iraqi people, the less credible they sound. And the more the Iraqi people will pay for it.

Apparently, the military-industrial complex that Eisenhower warned against could not be contained here. And I doubt it will be contained in Iraq.

The contracts will be administered by U.S. Agency for International Development, under the guise of aid to Iraq

Ironic that Iraqi aid will be paid with Iraqi oil and money.
