It is interesting that there is still no real evidence that Saddam is alive.

I think he's either dead or has fled the nation. Since Iraqi tv is all but dead to people living within Iraq, today's public speech suggests an attempt to send out some sort of message to the outside world. Probably asking for Jihad help from other Muslims.
