The comment was meant in a discrete event I would not trade 50 lives of US soldiers to save 1,000 Iraqi civilians. Whatever cost is ultimately realized in American lives, the cost of the liberation of Iraq will be less than the cost of not liberating Iraq. Per your response, at the present attrition rate there wont be much left of the Iraqi population if it is "continuous". We will be emerging victorious and vindicated here soon, much to your dismay I suspect.
