Don't forget the restaurants in Toronto. You don't have to go to fancy ones. On average, Toronto has the best restaurants I have seen anywhere.

Hard to tell. In general they have better understanding of foreign cultures than Americans.

As for me, I only go there to ski or shop, both of which are non-contact sports :)

BTW, for me a vacation is as much a mental process away from myself as it is to be in a far away land. When I travel, especially if it is non-western countries, I try to learn the language, wear their cloths, eat the same food as locals, and spend as much time in rural areas as in urban ones. It is amazing how friendly people get when they see you are making an effort.

Who said you were not wanted? Why this sorry and sad "pars pro toto" attitude? There's dodos and coneheads everywhere, but I can witness - from the street, from radio, from the tube - that people in Europe know well their opinion about the present US policies and some J6P, who they happen upon, are two completely different issues.
