Minus goodwill writedowns (originally grossly inflated as was/is the common practice). Don't forget "virtual" assets too.

Yes, but the changes will appear more gradually, as options already granted when the rules change, will be 'grandfathered'... there will be no requirement to restate past earnings reports, so only new options grants will show as expenses.
