Since I posted the Dowd column, it might help if I say something. Political opinion of all sorts of stripes is routinely posted to this thread. It is labeled as such and meant to be helpful to those who choose to read it. On occasion, we will argue about such. Krugman's columns have produced more than a few arguments.

If you wish to argue whether Dowd's "facts" are inventions, go to it. But remember you used the term "inventions." Moreover, you include the phrase that such "inventions" are "an unfortunate but all too common habit of NY Times opinion writers". I gather you are prepared not only to document that charge but to argue that its presence is greater than on other op ed pages such as the Washington Post or the Wall Street Journal.
