From what I heard, WHO only warns about the travel to SOUTH part of China, namely Guangdong, and HongKong, not the whole China. Maybe we were listening to different warnings<g>

And I do not know anyone in GuangDong, so can not say anything. But in Beijing, it is not a big deal at all. The only place where you can see some signs of this is in hospitals. My sister told me 1 week ago, when she went to the hospital, nurses and doctors did not wear surgery masks, but this week when she went, she saw the nurses/doctors were wearing them. On the street, seldom see anyone wear them.

Having said that, the airplane is the most dangerous place because of using the circulated air.

And the virus from 2nd or 3rd generation of SARS are much weaker, and far as bad as the original one.

And China already admitted that initially, local authorities (in GuangDong) failed to inform the public of the situation.
