I must be thick. How do you embed colors in post

This is red?

Never mind. It worked. For those of us who are impatient, perhaps it would be nice to see this in preview as you can with bold

Overall, great changes. This site is much more receptive and reader friendly than any other board. Keep up the good work.

John: Overall, MUCH BETTER. . . but. . .

1. The text in the lower box should be Bold also; would be easier to read. May cause prob's w/ 640x400 (but?)

2. The big "SILICON INVESTOR" (and other Yellow stuff) would be better in shades of white to IVORY, or maybe a Silver shade would do it. . . That yucky yellow is still yucky.

3. The color of the line making the lower box should be the Darker of the Blues; better contrast / definition.

4. The Inbox Paren's & Number should be Bold RED also (although not shown in your test).

Other than that, I think it is looking a lot better!!

Doing good!

Thank you,
Joe

Much better.

" The colors - Please take a look at the following page, and post your comments. We've changed the color scheme and the visited links color on this page. Both styles retain the colors of the previous site, with this one being, well, a blue theme. IMPORTANT NOTE: We're not going to make any final decision for at least a few days.

Still can't customize my toolbar. Still have to click through hotlists to get to the new subject link.

I like the shading of every other line better on siliconinvestor.com for a portfolio than the lighter shading on siliconinvestor.com.

A user-controlled setting to bold the Subjects with New Messages in the current day would partially solve the visited links light gray problem, and make the site even more interactive. Without this, users will read down the right column, but you can do this for us.

For the header on siliconinvestor.com, have you tried the light orange color where you have the dark, and the dark where you have light? Maybe a few other touches like making blue "Enter name or symbol" and "symbol lookup". The mini logo at the bottom would pop better with the lighter orange. Also that mini logo doesn't work because the ratio of type to background is too high.

The header readability changes are all good. I think SubjectMarks when we are in SubjectMarks or even reading or responding within it, or when appropriate, and similarly when doing charts and using other functions, would be a good touch. It would make the community more aware of other features.

Some other color schemes to ponder:

Could you make the
AP Finance Headlines
set in larger type?

We used to get 5 or so headlines on the Home page, and now we get only 2-3. The link to the headlines takes us to a column that takes up only about half of the available horizontal space. A larger font would be more readable and a bigger link to hit.

Hi John
Just noticed you fixed part of the search.
Specifically, the "key word(s)" in the search result coming back in red

Like this
Message 18856678
or any of these
siliconinvestor.com

Thanks, it is a definite time saver

OK, John, I got the message that it will be, at least, "a few days" (more than 2). . . Now, I'm beginning to wonder if you're going to do it at all!

The person that dreamt-up that vomit-yellow does not want to give it up and is high on the food chain in SI. . . . right?

I am getting the impression that "If we just leave it alone, it may 'go away'" is the SI dream. . .
I don't think that will happen.
The sickening YELLOW IS STILL SICKENING!

Please DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. . . it's so damn yucky, I keep thinking about it each day wondering if the change will happen!

Hey, I don't need this. . . If you think you do, I & others will just go elsewhere. . .

John, can we get off the dime and do something?!
You have had your "few days". . . let's get it on!

Thank you,
Joe

John, I'm still waiting for the mustard yellow header to be changed to blue. It can't be a big task to do this. WHEN can we expect to see the change?
