Evidence please. Thats a fairly serious accusation. I remember seeing it in a Frontline program, but I'll see if I can dig up more info. I don't think it's even an "accusation", it's simply a description of official Saudi policy. Just as Christian iconoclasts went about destroying icons as blasphemous, so the Wahabbis destroy Islamic pilgrimage sites and saint-worship wherever they find them. That's why the Wahabbis think the Shi'a are heretics, and the Shi'a return the favor.
