no credible candidates. That's what the Republicans said in 91. I remember it well.

It was the budget deficit which killed Bush 1. The budget deficits of Reagan and Bush required a tax increase which led to a recession. We are watching a repeat of that scenario.

Kerry-Edwards? Kerry-Graham? Kerry-McCain? I would be very confident with any of these.

Remember, by then the war will be long over. And no matter what you think of Bush you cannot possibly argue that he has done a good job running this country. The most important issues once the war is over are the economy, healthcare, education and the environment. He has been the worst we've ever seen on all of these issues. In fact he has hardly given them any time. He has spent more time fundraising than on all of these issues combined.

All these key issues except environment stem from the economy. Bush has promised us so much yet will end up delivering only a fraction, literally failing at every single one. This time Bush will not be able to blame Democrats either. For two years he will have controlled our government. And so what did he deliver?

The buck will stop right there. Though he's personally likeable, people would have to be masochists to re-elect Bush. Though the far right will support him I know. They'd support him even if he brought us The Great Depression II and got caught in bed with Barney Frank.
