Kerry's war hero status makes Bush's AWOL status an issue.
It will also keep Bushies from ever being able to capitalize on Bush's hawkishness and obsession with war for most of his four years. Mot veterans will vote for Kerry. After all Bush is trying to cut their benefits. Why would they vote for a creep like that?
