In the WH press briefing today, Fleisher was asked about the 100 billion (I think that was the number) in foreign loans that the Saddam government racked up to build its military and its palaces.

Does anybody know who these loans are owed to?

I would love to see any loans to any countries that didn't support the coalition disavowed by the replacement government, and those countries told to go ask Saddam for repayment.

<<The German medical treatment of our armed forces does get attention in the US media. There have been press conferences of wounded military broadcast from the hospital (Darmstadt? phonetically) and they say they have been well treated.>>

The 2nd General in Landstuhl is a US hospital, I drove an ambulance from the 501st from Ramstein to the hospital. German doctors did play a part at the hosital but it was 95% American. The 581 and the 583 provided ambulance service to the hospital. 581, 583 and the helicopter division made the 63rd group.

The 63rd was disolved as was the 581 and 583. 2nd Gen now has it's own ambulance service. It became part of the MASH unit that's based in Darnstadt. It's on a hill just outside of Landstuhl.
