Sounds optimistic on India.... why will NK collapse? And yes, I've felt all along the Islamic Revolution in Iran was the 3rd biggest real threat to the US.... the first being Pakistan, the second being China.

I always hedge myself on India but I am optimistic, India has many strengths and advantages that are not very visible to most of the west.

NK will collapse because it's what makes sense for the US, China, Russia, Japan and South Korea. That's a powerful team to have motivated.

No, I don't think there is much risk in marginalizing France but I wouldn't want them humiliated either. There is more upside to focusing on the former Soviet clients then there is making France happy (france happy - an oxymoron?).

Wouldn't Russia/Germany/France/Iran pose a tough alliance against us?

Hard to imagine. Iran is too unstable. Putin is too pragmatic. France has a hard right wing that nobody wants to piss off enough to have them get powerful.
