The faster we move, the fewer the casualties. They want to draw it out. It could be over by this weekend. The tipping point is near. But, it's war, so you can only guess the timeline.

What makes you think Saddam has not hidden a years worth of supplies for himself and his troops? The only people you'd hurt will be the civilians.
