It confirms the authenticity of the historical record, that they were not forgeries. Each Apostle wrote his account according to his perception. Deviations in minor non-essential details only prove that the central themes are correct. There are no deviations on the central themes of the: Incarantion (virgin birth), Jesus' sinlessness, his Crucifixion, and Resurrection.
