Why would you want to "disbelieve" something before examining the data, unless, of course, your mind is already made up. So why examine the data at all?

Approaching something with an "open mind and open heart" means that you establish a pre-disposition to examine the objective reality and form opinions only after examining the facts. This is what critical analysis means. You seem to want to approach the documents and data with bias and disbelief?
