I thought my post was fair commentary on the ridiculous notion that the nation-wide response to DeGenova--and his comments on "fragging" and a "million Mogadishus"--was somehow indicative of the right wing Wolf Pack's attempt to subvert academic freedom.

Your views would censor anyone who criticizes the more extreme (m)academia nuts, treating the poor, helpless, pacifist, penurious, oppressed fellows as victims who deserve mollycoddling because of their status as poorly-paid keepers of the flame of purity and reason.

I suppose that's OK with you, though the double standard and the hypocrisy inherent in that thinking is quite obvious to me. One sort of First Amendment for the academics and another for their critics, right?
