Yesterday on cable I heard an interview with Gary Bowden who is the author of Black Hawk Down (a story of modern war)...

Bowden claims that he has heard that some in Saddam's leadership have studied the Somalia experience and have read his book carefully...He hopes our future operations 'go according to plan'...Yet, with urban combat and an enemy using asymmetrical warfare they rarely do...Unfortunately, in the last 24 hours we have lost a BlackHawk helicopter and a Navy F-18 Hornet jet...The stock market doesn't seem too worried and is expecting a quick resolution to this war.
