April 3 — AS SAYLIYA CAMP, Qatar (Reuters) - U.S. special forces raided one of President Saddam Hussein's palaces and sites around Baghdad as U.S.-led forces closed in on the capital, military officials said on Thursday.

"Our special operations forces have enjoyed very good freedom of action," Brig. Gen. Vincent Brooks told a briefing at war headquarters in Qatar.

"More special operations against key regime locations continued in the last 24 hours," Brooks said, showing combat camera video footage of special forces entering the Tharthar Palace about 56 miles from Baghdad.....

Chuck one up for cooperation with Shia clerics. As I said, the real center of Shia movement is Najaf (though Karbala shows up from time to time). BTW, Sistani is of Iranian decent, as was Khoei.
