I understand your position. However, I would need a bit more than word of mouth to believe in most claims, especially those involving such fantastic aspects like prophets, being the son of God, etc.

You might like to know that in courts, eyewitness statements are not considered conclusive evidence - you will not be convicted just because your neighbour says she saw you kill that man. This is because witnesses can lie, change stories for their motives, and most important of all, because our mind sometimes plays tricks on us and memory IS fallible.
