He writes well as I said. It's not a Hemingway style, God, I hope not! Good "Bad" Hemingway is a joke today. Totally outdated. He's just not a reliable reporter. Different skills. Just because you dislike his Political columns, you have no basis for the statement that his war reporting is not reliable. Kelly "Made his Bones" reporting the Gulf war, and wrote "Martyr's Day: Chronicle of a Small War" while reporting over there for the "New York Times." It is considered a classic. You probably read and approved of him then. I guess, in your book, only negative war reporting from NYT guys who are on record as being opposed to the war is "reliable."
