That's OK. Abdullah has to massage the Palestinian mob in his country.

Agreed.. but it's still a touchy situation. Remember.. he's an Arab ruling a Palestinian population. There's still considerable motivation for Palestinian leaders to overthrow and replace him with one of their leaders, creating a semi-viable Palestinian state with a larger population than Israel..

And Saudi Arabia has considerable interest in maintaining the pressure on his regime so that he doesn't wind up overshadowing them with his relationship with a new Iraq.

And were the Hashemites overthrown by the Palestinians, it would absolutely nullify any willingness by the Israelis to compromise on a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza...

And THAT could create some tremendous tension between Arabs and Jews, escalating the turmoil and making a peace treaty extremely difficult to achieve.. IMO.
