That's true. Too many people have politcal blinders on when it comes to issues both economic and domestic. Most things would happen no matter who is in the White House. There's probably nothing Gore could have done differently to prevent 9/11 (although noone can really know for sure, perhaps a Gore Administration would have taken FBI and foreign intelligence agency warnings regarding an imminent threat of a terrorist attack more seriously) and certainly the stock market is its own animal. It goes where it wants to go no matter who is President.

I'm pointing out that, if the results are what is important, then the Democratic administrations have a much better track record in the recent past. Republicans pride themselves on being the 'business-friendly' party; evidence would suggest the opposite.

You can never say 'what if' with any confidence, so speculating about what would had happened with Gore in office is merely opinion.
