Since it is the warrior who has to do the fighting, I am probably more cautious about war than you are.

As I have said many times, war is awful. Only too often the wrong people die. I have anguished over the death of Iraqis as well as Americans. The soldiers in the trenches don't start the wars they simply execute.

However, I don't believe this war was avoidable. I don't believe that the UN was committed to forcing Saddam to change his ways and I don't believe that he or his thugs should be left ruling Iraq. Since he had no plans of going anywhere someone was going to have to effect the change (if there was going to be change).

I think the way this war was prosecuted leaves little to the imagination why Saddam had to go. He has no regard for non combatants. He has no regard for anyone but himself, his Baath Party and elite forces. The Fedayeen and all the brutal "soldiers" inflicting his scheme on Iraq will be emasculated and anyone who thinks that wrong deserves the same fate as Saddam.

Just because two ideals are being fought for by opposing sides, doesn't mean that both are right. I believe the cause of one was right. If you don't, then too bad for you.
