I see there being a confluence of events which allowed the plan to attack Iraq to go forward and maybe neccessitated it. They wanted to attack Iraq anyway and get rid of Saddam. But the only legit reason I can see for jumping the gun and using this weather window rather than in maybe 6 months once the inspections ran their course is thinking that N. Korea might send the Iraqis nuclear weapons. Surely it isn't to save a few billion from avoiding rotating troops? And why go through the inspection/UN charade in the first place if Saddam was really currently a threat to the US or really was linked to 9/11? All the latter are nonsense I think. So far no WMDs have been found in Iraq though lots of propaganda headlines have suggested that. I guess we will just have to wait and see to find out what really happened...
