You summed it up well....it must be hell for the left to be longing for days marked by leadership totally devoid of character and a market that will be looked back upon as historically foolish as the tulip mania.

I am a registered republican but I am embarrassed by this admin. Economic policy is pure ideology that doesn't want to be confused by the facts. If productivity is going up and employment isn't keeping pace layoffs will accelerate. That is what is happening and good policy would be directed at propping up final demand in the economy. Nobody will invest much if they don't see sufficient demand. That is why tax breaks aren't working. We have alienated most of the world which will on the margin hurt exports and put a further crimp on final demand. BTW Reagan also sucked as a president and I consider TR the best repub pres of the last century.
