Well, if you read the article in the Globe, you'd know that he's always 'portrayed' himself as Boston Irish. When written about or talked about as a pure Irishman, or introduced at the annual St Patty's Day breakfast as Irish, he never once attempted to correct the record. He claims he just found out he's not Irish, coincidentally just at the time the Globe reporter outted him.
