Your data are wrong, and so is your interpretation. The data from polls that you must be using for that statement say that a large percentage of people in the sample support the troops, now that they're out in the field. That's a lot different from assuming they support the war.

I'd be surprised if LESS than 80 percent of those polled supported the troops. If the question dealt with whether an offensive war was the best alternative, you might get 40 percent agreement, if you're lucky, from a random sample, of course. War mongers will do anything to spin the data.

They're in shock and awe, it appears stupid but it eventually wears off with only occasional relapses.
