Latest Update Shows No Change in Support for Invasion of Iraq
Vast majority still say Iraq not complying with United Nations requirements

A new Gallup Poll shows much stability in the public's support for military action against Iraq, with 59% in favor and 37% opposed, which is where it has been for the last several weeks. The vast majority of Americans continue to believe that Iraq is not complying with what the United Nations has required it to do. Fear of war continues to rank among Americans' top mentions of the country's most important problem, along with the economy. President Bush's latest job approval rating is 57%.

That is a pre-war poll by Gallup.

I am for the forcible removal od Saddam and his henchman. I was before the war and I am now. I was in the majority before the war. I am now.

Nothing has changed. As far as PR is concerned, wherever there is agenda, there is PR. Every civilized country on the planet has a PR machine.

Look ar Russia, for example:

Over half Russians want Iraqi victory-opinion poll

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MOSCOW, April 3 (Reuters) - More than half the Russian people want Iraq to win its war against U.S.-led forces and three-quarters dislike U.S. President George W. Bush, an opinion poll released on Thursday showed.

The poll, carried out by Russia's respected Public Opinion Foundation, found that 58 percent of the 1,500 Russians questioned wanted Iraq to win the war, while only three percent wanted an American victory.

The poll also showed a steep rise in Bush's unpopularity, to 76 percent now from 45 percent in May 2002.

Only 17 percent of Russians disliked Iraqi President Saddam Hussein in March, compared with 22 percent in February 2002 when a similar poll was conducted. Support for the Iraqi leader rose to 22 percent from 16 over the same period.

About half the respondents said they were indifferent to the Iraqi leader.

The Kremlin strongly opposes the U.S.-led war in Iraq and Russian mass media have been providing largely anti-American coverage of the 15-day-old campaign.

The poll was carried out on March 29 and posted on the www.fom.ru website.

You make is sound as if all that the US has is PR with your little snippet about alternative energy soures. The US leads the world in the advancement of science in virtually every category. Who will ultimately create the new fuel cell technologies to reduce use of oil?
