How did the question of art market valuations come into this discussion and why do you think they were a pyramid? What is your evidence for this since they are still high? Do you know anything about this subject?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion about the market. Regardless of whether it is a bear or a bull, one can still make money. Not everyone lost money as a result of the tech bubble bursting, since many of those companies have intrinsic value in the form of patents or other proprietary products and services.

You are right about the present poorly performing economy and stock market. But this is due in part to the extraordinary large amount of debt taken on by the federal government (and state and local governments as well), which scares off investors. I blame the current mess on policies taken by the current administration--policies that turn investors off, not only because of what they are doing to the economy but because the lax treatment of corporate criminals has removed almost every trace of investor confidence. In this regard, the market is still quite high, but it is high ONLY because of the policies intentionally adopted by the Bush administration.

As Truman said, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. (And don't put a spin on it by blaming someone else.)
