With all the chatter over the decade or so gone, with Lebed [not Jonathan who the SEC hassled cs.brown.edu ] saying they'd lost a few nukes during the decommissioning of the USSR, wouldn't it be a big surprise if Saddam International Airport goes bang. Saddam has been out parading around town. The absurd speculation about whether it's him or not continuing unabated. I would not be surprised if there is a very big bang at Saddam International airport. Saddam would obviously have gone to great trouble to get hold of a nuke or three over the past decade. Maybe somebody in Pakistan would sell him one or two. Or maybe China or ex-USSR have lost one. That would certainly slow down the advance by the USA into Baghdad and test the mettle of the USA determination to oust Saddam. Way back in 1990, I wondered whether the advance on Baghdad wasn't halted because of a similar threat. We don't have to wait long if the Iraqis claim they are going to conduct an unconventional attack on USA forces at Saddam International Airport tonight. I wonder what scheme they have. If it's a nuke or chemical attack, that'll shut up the opposition to the attack on Iraq's infamous "weapons of mass destruction". The Iraqis have certainly had a LOT of time to prepare a welcoming committee. Mqurice
