Southern moderate like John Edwards holds the right creditials

creditials like being a personal injury trail lawyer scamming companies for big bucks?

"Edwards has become a captive of the trial lawyers and the left-wing special interests in Washington. He has lost touch with the average American. Clearly, he is not ready for 'prime time.'" (Marc Rotterman, "Way Out Of Touch," The [Raleigh] News And Observer, December 8, 2002)

People who will vote for any Democratic candidate include the unemployed, families of the unemployed, parents of college age children who are unable to attend college because of the economy, boomers who believe their retirement is threatened by the economic policies of Bush - In other words, all groups who have been harmed or perceive threatened harm from the Bush economic policies.

Edwards-Kerry? Unlikely, but Edwards is a great candidate.

One thing you must remember is that southerner Gore did not win a single southern state. If he had won New Hampshire he would have won the election.

Kerry would certainly pick a southerner or conservative type military man as a runing mate. His Veep would have to give him one key state. Edwards can deliver North Carolina, Graham Florida, Wesley Clark Arkansas, McCain Arizona, etc. I dont think Kerry would have much problem winning the same states Gore did in 2000. Kerry would have a stronger running mate, no Nader (knock on wood) and be running against a sitting president with the worst economy since Herbert Hoover.

It will probably be a tough race, but have you ever heard Kerry speak or debate? The man is POWERFUL and unifying. Wont matter what state Kerry is from once people hear him and get to know him. He's no typical liberal, but a new kind of progressive moderate with military credentials up the yin-yang.
