I have thought of that and a yahoo site too, etc.. the only difference is one gets to make the list senders anonymous, if they want to be.. this works the way I do it.

With most major-domo email software, and most sites, the list members are "exposed", either on the site or as posters, or with return email addresses. They may not wish to be ID'd or exposed to direct return mail and I don't want it that way either. You cannot spam the members my way either, if I have control. Their email addresses are not seen with my system.

You are right that a member forum might work. I believe you have to be a premium member to make one, and I am not. I have found that private forums discourage sign ups as they fear prejudice by the owners. I run a no-holds barred shop. I really don't care who joins as long as they play by rules reasonable.

I have my own posting software that I used to run on my home computer. It was very sophisticated and allowed for GIFs and all sorts of html posting etc.. I may try that in the future.
