Making one third of $400,000 a year working part time isn't easy, I agree.-g-

You can get lots of part time work at the bottom of the pay scale, but corporate work that pays well requires a very heavy committment. Hence the remuneration.

I know a lot of doctors and nurses who do work part time and make a very nice living. But health care is semi-autonomous.

The kind of law I practice is essentially autonomous.

I can think of many other jobs and professions where you can make a pretty good living working part time. Selling real estate. Configuring networks. Freelance journalism. Repairing automobiles. Landscaping.

But being part of a corporate heirarchy, no.

Even the government is more flexible. A friend of mine telecommutes three days a week.
