So you think that the Republicans in Congress had nothing to do with making sure the SEC didn't get tough on company accounting practices? Read Arthur Levitt's book about the pressures brought by Congress to PREVENT the SEC from stopping conflicts of interest between companies and their accountants. Then look at how Levitt's successor Harvey Pitt let them get away with the store.

If you believe Bush has been great for investors, then you have my sympathy if you are actively investing, because you're going to lose a lot of money.
