How will Dubya handle a democratic Iraq that might just decide to elect a pro-Arab anti Israel gov't? I should have said probably for the anti-Israel position.

A strong democracy in that region would mean that Iraq might build a military. THey would certainly support the Palestinian cause against Israel. A strong Iraq is certainly a ways off and hopefully we won't have any Bush's in power at the time.

Israel's worst nightmare may come true without Saddam. The Arabs don't need Saddam to hate the Israelis.

The US will have to occupy Iraq for many years to avoid scenarios like the one I described.

GEORGE Bush pulled out of a speech to the European Parliament when MEPs wouldn't guarantee a standing ovation.

Senior White House officials said the President would only go to Strasbourg to talk about Iraq if he had a stage-managed welcome

Remember this one?>>>

"I know there's a website up, that there is encouragement for people to protest by standing and turning their backs on the president—we hope you won't do that. I need to tell you that if you do stand even in silence and you block other people's views or otherwise interfere with their enjoyment of the ceremony and someone complains, you'll be asked to sit down and if you do not, you'll be asked to leave, and if you don't leave when you're asked you'll be subject to removal and arrest for criminal trespass, and obviously you will not graduate. I think you get the idea. This is a graduation. This is not meant to be a political forum."
