Cynide was linked to Russia. Since the gulf war the United States did not aid Iraq in any weapons. The US never helped Saddam attack Kurds. The US attempted to protect the Kurds and the Shiites with no-fly zones. As a matter of fact, they enabled Saddam to stay in power, by not backing revolutions. Clinton also refused to have Saddam killed in 1995, when offered by Arab agents, even though Saddam tried to have George Bush killed. That attempt alone, justifies the US in removing Saddam.
