Yes, the pragmatists have calmed me down. I have no problem with Syria having an 'important' role to play commercially in Iraq.


I'm curious to see whether Japan ultimately gets the upper hand in administering this. Isn't Japan customer #1?


Customer #1 of Saudi Arabia (Japan paid for most of the first Gulf War) but I don't know about Iraq. Maybe Japan can set up the Iraqi banking system. ;-)
