It SHOULD always stay fresh in the memory of all who marched to "give peace a chance". The people in our streets got what they wanted - no more U.S. military involvement in SE Asia. The congress (always eyeing the next election) cut off funding for same. Perhaps if we can find a way to claim a "win" in Iraq and leave, the Iraqi people will rejoice. Perhaps the several hundred bystanders killed in this war will be the last Iraqi civilians to suffer. Perhaps there will be no tears from the ones who made a mistake of believing the U.S. truly intended to dispatch Saddam.
