Kumar, the USA isn't in Iraq to free Iraqis. That's a side-effect. There are swarms of countries which could do with being freed, but the USA isn't leaping to the rescue.

Countries and people do what is in their interests.

The USA will defend countries which serves the USA interests whether the countries want to be defended or not and will ignore countries which want to be defended if there are no USA interests at stake.

That's life in the fast lane.

Whatever NZ does with respect to nukes in Godzone won't make a difference.

There were no nukes in Godzone in 1939 when my father declared war on Hitler and co. It was very late in 1941 when the USA got serious. Better late than never, but it was for USA interests. The same story is still true.

The USA is dealing with Saddam for King George's reasons, not all of which are public. I think Saddam's attempt on the life of Laura is sufficient to explain it all. But wait, there's more ....
