If not for GOP moderates and John Kerry's ability to beat Bush, I would be quite scared now about a possible slide back to a kind of neo-McCarthyism. That is, a country where if you speak up against the president, even absolutely truthfuly, it can kill your career or even get you arrested. Ironic that the Bushies are so intolerant of disset against GW, because they were the ones who went all the way into Clinton's underwear drawer looking for semen stains, while Clinton was running the most successful administration in history. What a stunning double standard they have. We're un-patriotic if we expose Bush's failures and call him a phony political con-man, but they're real Americans using tax-payer money to witch-hunt in Clinton's laundry bin, paying bimbos to come forward and file frivolous lawsuits, putting Susan McDougal in jail because she wouldn't make false statements they wanted her to make, etc. All I can hope is what goes around comes around, for the Bushies who dish it out daily but cannot take it.
