We need at least 100,000 troops to STAY in Iraq now. We're not letting the UN peace-keepers in except as humanitarians. We have few allies to help. The Kurds and Turks have to be kept apart.

Who's going to police that huge country, guard its borders? Who's going to rebuild its infrastructure? Afghanistan was easy compared to Iraq, and we're not even half-finished there.

And what about Bushie moves against Iran and Syria? Are they next? Does Iraq become our big militry base now after we've nation-builded there? Do we have to hire mercenaries to bolster our armies? Do we let Saddam's cronies help us now? And how do we tell friend from foe?

Dont forget we are also in 70+ other countries including Afghanistan. Spread out very thin. Our troops are tired and need a long break. Our special forces are particularly over-taxed, though I'm sure they're pumped this month.

Bushies now want the G-7 to help pay for Iraq, after we snubbed the UN and went off on our own. With everyones' economy in the toilet I dont see that happening. Unless we promise them oil. Then maybe. So the French get their oil after all? But how much oil is there to go around? And who pays off Iraq's current 250 billion in debt?
