tejek, I grew up in the midst of Mexican peons. They think nothing like we do. A large majority of the peoples I mentioned are dirt poor, and have no way of thinking the way we do. The way we think is totally foreign to the poor masses of the world.

I agreed with you on the disease problems of the 20th century. I once was a participant, but through medical help, and a resolve to change my life style, all of the physical problems I had, (several of them were on your list, BTW) are either gone, or under compete control. It can be done if people will get off their fat asses and do something about it. Sloth, and sedentary living, are other problems of the 20th century. The stress that is blamed for so much these days, comes from a large part of society having grown up with the faulty premise of FDR, and all liberal Presidents after him, that the government will provide "cradle to the grave" security for all citizens. It just don't work that way in reality. Shake the stress off at it's first appearance, pull up your boot straps, and forge forward against all odds. That is the attitude that built this nation in the 19th century, but unearned wealth, and easy living, has caused this rugged individualism to disappear. This same lapse of common sense has caused the down fall of empires throughout history, so can we expect things to be different?? One can only hope.
