"The U.S. and Israel are one and the same thing. Their common objective is to enfeeble Arabs and tear their nation to pieces", says Samir Ragab, the staid chairman of the hitherto moderate Egyptian Gazette on March 27

"It is genocide to me," says Cairo Times reporter Summer Said... George Elnaber, a 36-year-old owner of an Amman, Jordan, supermarket says: "Bush is an occupier and terrorist. We hate Americans more than we hate Saddam now."

It's hard to believe this was not planned and fully intended. The "oh, darn, we screwed up" excuse rings hollow after a while. Clearly, the objective is to polarize and militarize -- create dissent, then crush it. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Who profits? That is also clear. Follow the political power, domestic control and outright cash profiteering by the players among the administration and associates. Then, look even more closely at any who conceal their actions, either as head of public companies, or as public servants. Those deserve the most scrutiny. Any who attempt to hide their past actions of the last 20 years should be removed while unfettered investigations begin, IN PUBLIC.

"The U.S. and Israel are one and the same thing"

I said something similar ("these policies are making the US become like Israel, with enemies and constant threat of terrorism") in a conversation among Jewish and Israeli acquaintences a couple weeks ago. I got nodding of heads all around, and an embarassed silence. I explained my own experience in Israel where a friend was killed after the '67 war, that I will fight to the death for my family and country, but not for Saudi Arabia or Israel, or other non-American country. There was no counter to that.

We have a situation where so many countries sap the lifeblood of America with the willing assistance of corrupt US administration, lobbyists, Congress, mercenary agents of all kinds, public and private. All such lobbying and flow of every dollar in public policy needs to be exposed, and anyone who attempts to restrict such exposure thrown out.

Silly article. Bush never predicted a "cakewalk". Nevertheless, the progress of the troops has been incredible.
