I think the "Web Photo Gallery" script is not using the "Save for Web" engine, using instead the direct "Save As". So the preview thingie isn't available for that specific script. But there's nothing magic about the "Web Photo Gallery" script and you could make your own "action" that does use the "Save For Web" engine. It's pretty much just a matter of recording an action, then point and click. You can set up your own custom options. If you run into any "gotchas", I'll check it out and give you a hand. You could even wrap the whole process into a "droplet" and completely automate it with a single click.
