Yes chickenhawks have never seen war up close. If they ever had they'd know there is nothing good about war. It's something you do as a last resort. And you never go to war just for domestic political reasons. The biggest lie the chicikenhawks tell is that the GOP is the only pro-military party. In fact most war hero leaders are Democrats. And most of the excellence we see now in Iraq was built-up and built-in during the Clinton years. Bush deliberately lied during his campaign telling Americans one of our divisions was not combat-ready. He also had a lower military budget than Gore, which was ironic. But not all military spending is right or smart. After the end of the Cold War and Reagan's big budget-busting build-up, we needed to trim way down and transform. That was done over 12 years during Bush Sr and Clinton years with bi-partisan support in each case. In future years we may need to pare down the GW Bush build-up. Whatever is out-dated or not necessary we dont need. Because that money is all deficit spending now.
